Painting is a passion but I’ve never felt very good at it so I rarely post the pieces I make. Maybe putting it here will convince me it’s worthy of being seen.

I have been working on this painting for a few months now, putting all of my emotions down on the canvas. Each flower expresses an emotion I was feeling at the time I painted it. Loneliness, Love, hurt, Heartbreak. I have used the time spent painting to reconnect with myself and learn that it’s ok to spend time in my own company. Being free to just sit in my own silence and not feel like I had to cater to anyone or anything. It’s ok to be just me.
Completed project. It took months and now it’s done. All the anxiety, pain, anguish, and tears went here instead of holding on to them in my mind. Art has always been a place for solace for me. I loved working on this and will start on something new soon. -gv

Reading my poetry out loud is giving me a different perspective. Maybe it’s meant to be heard and not skimmed while being read. Pause, breathe, take in the words, what emotion are they invoking for you?
