Poetry With Me

I let you back in and I held you when the storm came and went

but then you let go of me and I was taken by the wind

You will cross oceans of time and I pray you never find me again

Because the love that I gave you was pure and honey filled

and maybe that was my greatest sin.

I pray oh I pray that I never find a love like yours again.

That I never breathe in the scent of your skin

or see your eyes filled with pain in them

You always smile with your whole self and then run away from me

like I am a plague upon your house

I bring sunshine and light to your darkest of nights and yet you push and push me away

until I have nothing left to say

I pray oh I pray

that in the next life I find a love more like mine

instead of this love that has to wait to cross oceans of time.
