Have you ever fallen in love? Did you feel the ground break your fall, your body aching for the pain to stop while you tried to pick up the pieces of you that they left behind. Wondering if they’d ever fit back together again. I see the shimmer from the cracks when the light hits you just right. But sometimes we forgive and try to hide the pain, we mask it behind a smile and a laugh. We choose to blow off this tremendous heartbreak.
Why? I’d really like to know.
Why do we let them get away with hurting us over and over again?
Maybe we should just stop letting them in.
