Poetry With Me

Dream of me tonight for when you wake I will say goodbye
I can not hold on any longer to a love that feels like a lie
Dream of me when you miss the feeling of being complete
Maybe it will haunt you while you sleep
The days grow colder and the sun won’t shine 
I know you wish you could spin back the hands of time
When the lights go out and you are in the darkness 
Remember that I tried so hard, yes I tried my hardest
But you never held me, not the way I longed to be
And now that soul has been emptied and there’s nothing left for you to keep
While losing me may not be as hard as I make it seem 
At least I’ll forever be the girl in your dreams
